Team Building Activity: Dumpling-Making Competition
This team building activity comes with a competitive twist and plenty of delicious food. Chef Kelly will teach your group how to expertly make dumplings from scratch, from dough to fillings to folding.
After learning how to make and shape dough and fillings, you'll learn the intricate (and somewhat challenging) art of dumpling folding. Then, everyone will get to split into teams to compete for the tasty win! Each group will use creativity, teamwork and forward-thinking to mix and match fillings like tofu, chicken, pork and veggies to see who comes with the tastiest combinations. In the end, teams will be judged on the uniqueness, appearance and overall taste of their dumplings.
MENU
All necessary utensils will be provided by the chef. The venue is required to have access to sinks nearby, tables set-up to prep and garbage containers. Chefs are able to arrive a minimum of 30 minutes in advance.

- This is a BYOB venue and alcoholic beverages are not available for sale. You are welcome to bring beer and wine to enjoy during class.

It was a fun time, yet not much of a cooking class. We learned how to fold a packaged wonton wrapper with a pre-made filling. Well overpriced for the experience.

It want at all what we were expecting. Kelly was a great instructor but we thought we would be learning how to make the filling but instead we learned hope to fold wonton wrappers.

We had such a fun time at our cooking class with Chef Kelly! It was so hands on and I really felt like we learned so much about pasta making. I feel confident and excited to try the recipes at home. I would definitely recommend this class!! Chef Kelly is awesome !

Chef Kelly was fantastic! She made us feel so welcomed and comfortable as we learned how to make four different types of pasta, we loved it! We immediately started looking up pasta makers in the car ride home. We can't wait to have a dinner party and make everyone hand-made pasta. We will be back for another class soon, loved her and the class :)

Overall enjoyed this event, but a few changes would make it so much better. First, this is more of a ‘how to stuff a dumpling class’ vs. how to make dumplings. The filling was premade and chef Kelly cooked them for us, and while they were delicious I would have preferred more variety (different flavors vs all veggie filling). Second, Chef Kelly demonstrated to how fill the dumplings 8 different ways and then left us on our own to do it. It would have been a better experience if she had walked us step-by-step through each one so we could do it with her while she did it. Lastly, my partner and I ended up not feeling good right after eating the dumplings. Not surprising considering that everyone in this class prepared and ate what other people made. At one point we were encouraged to get out our phones and take photos of our work, then go back to making dumplings without washing hands (gross). I have a stomach of steel, so for me to have issues something really must have been wrong. Health/safety/sanitation should be better, or we should only be eating what we make ourselves.

Class wasn't very good. We weren't taught how to make dumplings. At the beginning of class, we were very quickly shown 10+ variations for folding dumplings. It was very hard to follow, much less recall the variations when it came time to fold. Would have been better to show us one at a time, with time to work through - or give some sort of written instructions to reference. The filling was also premade, so this class was basically a dumpling folding class. There was also one cooker for the entire class, so much of the time was spent waiting in line. I didn't learn anything, and the class wasn't fun. Save your time and money and skip.

Don’t get food like me… I do not recommend ANY of the “standard” class pop classes. Unfortunately, I got a promotional offer and didn’t realize it was only for “standard” classes. In denver They are ALL held at a brewery. That’s not the problem, the problem is that it’s not designed to hold cooking classes. There is only ONE cooking station. (Even though there is space for more - so they could have more people preparing food and actually learning as they prepare food and cook food with the instructor.) While the chef is lovely, she gave no food history, worse… you don’t actually cook any food (seriously- Everything was prepackaged (including the dumpling filling… The most important part) )!! the actual “training” / cooking is the first 15-20 minutes of class while you watch her show you how to wrap dumplings. Most of the class time is just waiting to have your dumplings cooked in the single cooker. I have never been to a cooking class where you didn’t have multiple cooking stations where you worked & cooked alongside the chef. so what the class really is was “how to wrap a dumpling”. I could’ve just done a YouTube. sidenote, the cider at the brewery was really good. And the dumplings were very tasty. I just didn’t learn how to actually cook them. (Apparently she’ll be sending out a recipe via email for the actual dumpling filling.) My advice. Don’t ever take a class pop signature class. I’m leery of any of their other classes offerings based on this experience. (I had tried to cancel, or change my coupon for cooking classes and never heard back from class pop. I tried three times.)

Chef Kelly was very friendly and organized. Everything was great, I just thought we were going to be making the dumpling filling but it was pre made. That is fine, maybe would be good to state that in the description somewhere. Thanks Chef Kelly, we had a lot of fun and the dumplings were delicious!

Ms. Kelly was a very nice and knowledgable instructor. I would give 5 stars but there were too many people in the class, spreading her attention thin. There was only one cooking station, so people had to wait in line cook the dumplings. Also, we were provided single use disposable plastic forks and cups whic is harmful to the environment.

This class was an absolute blast. Chef Kelly has a true passion for cooking and teaching! She provided all the materials needed to make delicious dumplings. It was a really fun date idea and would recommend to anyone who loves dumplings and want to learn to make them!

We chose this class because we could not use the gift card my nephew gave us for Christmas on premium classes, which totally limited our options. Had he known this was the case he would have looked elsewhere. The class itself was a total disappointment. 20+ people is too many when you only have one pot and one frying pan. We were fortunate to be in the first group she demonstrated wrapping dumplings to or we would have been there all night. Chef Kelly demonstrated 6 ‘wraps’ in rapid fire succession and moved on to the next group. My wife and I struggled to remember what was shown and never had Chef Kelly come back to help. We did our best and headed to the pot to keep the night moving on. I left having no better understanding of preparing dumplings than when I arrived. The description of this event is misleading. The filling is premade, water to ‘seal’ wrappers was filled “after” her demonstration, no napkins on the table to wipe your hands, and it was so loud you could barely hear her very brief instructions. I could learn more on YouTube. Don’t waste your money here.

I loved the venue, I loved how small the class was too. Kelly was really personable and informative. An enjoyable experience and not too hard to make. The food was delicious, Kelly I would love to have the recipie for the vegetarian dumplings. A good time had by all. One suggestion though, we only had a class of 11, and with only one steamer and on skillet, there were some of us waiting a long time to cook our food, I would suggest getting another burner, oan and steamer

This was a wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Chef Kelly really likes helping people learn how to cook. She very patient and answered all questions. When we were making the stuff pasta, she would help each student improve their technique individually. It was fun having a hands on experience in which the whole class helped each other out. I am looking forward to taking more classes from her
