Printing photographs from film negatives is an art form in itself. In this exciting three-hour introduction to darkroom procedures from BKC, you’ll learn the basics of printing from a 35mm black-and-white negative using an enlarger and traditional photography chemistry. You’ll make test strips, contact prints and enlargements of your images. You’ll also learn how to fix, wash and dry your prints. You can bring your own pre-processed negatives, print from sample negatives provided in class or bring a roll of unprocessed 35mm black-and-white film to the darkroom at least two days in advance of class for processing to make sure it’s ready by class time. Resin-coated photo paper and chemistry is provided. Masks will be required at all times while in the darkroom

I did the one-day workout this Sunday from 11am-4pm led by Kathy. I couldn't be happier with the class, it's really well structured and easy to understand. After having been using the auto mode on my camera for 7+ years now, I can finally use the manual mode now. I took some shots on manual after the class and some turned out a lot better than the auto mode. I'm so excited to take my camera out for runs now. Thanks so much Kathy and BKC!
