Online Cooking Class: Seasonal Italian Fare

Prepare a four-course menu of Italian dishes that capture the flavors of the fall in this online cooking class.


Autumn brings a yearning for dishes that comfort as much as they nourish. In this interactive virtual cooking class with Chef Chris, you’ll learn to prepare a hearty Italian meal that does exactly that, using the foods of the season. You’ll make a savory pumpkin lasagna complete with handmade pasta, pumpkin Parmigiano filling and bechamel sauce. Then, satisfy your sweet side with a dark chocolate hazelnut cake topped with pears. 


MENU


Handmade Lasagna Noodles 

With eggs and flour


Pumpkin Parmigiano Filling 

With kabocha pumpkin or butternut squash, Parmigiano and nutmeg


Bechamel Sauce 

With flour, butter, milk, nutmeg, fresh sage and black pepper


Dark Chocolate Hazelnut Cake With Pears 

With eggs, sugar, vanilla and butter

Chef Chris did a great job today. He answered all questions expertly, made great suggestions for alternatives, and guided us well through all the steps. The recipes were easily followed, and the ingredients were not difficult to obtain. We just finished our dinner and thoroughly enjoyed it. We had the lasagna with a 2017 Grenache by Babcock called Love Among the Ruins. Later our Pear and Chocolate cake was paired with Demetria’s 2017 Agno, a 100% Mourvèdre...great wines from California’s Central Coast, Santa Barbara County. Yummm to the food and wine!!!! Thank you

Chef Chris is very knowledgeable about cooking and the art of making pasta! I do think the class is a bit too full and too expensive, took almost 3 hours to complete everything and eat. After paying for the class you also have to pay for drinks from the restaurant which would be nice to get a complimentary one for the price. Overall I don’t think I’ll do the class again just because it was too long and too many people in the small space.

This was awesome! A lot better than I could have expected. The food was great and we got to make it ourselves ☺️ Going with a group allows for an elevated experience plus getting out and exploring more foods! Chef was lovely and will definitely be seeing us again!
