Online Cooking Class: Make a Classic Lemon Meringue Tart

Begin by crafting the buttery shortbread crust for your tart with all-purpose flour, vanilla bean paste and unsalted butter. Plus, master the technique of kneading and shaping the dough. Use zesty lemon juice, egg yolks and sugar to make a tangy lemon curd using the bain-marie technique. Finally, learn the secrets to making a classic Italian meringue with sugar, egg whites and water. Fill your baking dish with the shortbread crust and layer in the lemon curd. Pipe on the meringue to assemble your dessert before diving into your sweet creation.
