The meal starts with a zesty ginger carrot soup made from roasted carrots and onions, accentuated with the slightly sweet yet peppery flavor of ginger. A side of perfectly golden French baguette makes the perfect accompaniment for dipping into the savory soup. Next, hand roll and fill Italian ravioli with ricotta cheese and cover them in a rustic marinara sauce alongside a fresh and light Mediterranean salad with sweet peppers and cucumbers. Round out the meal with a classic French dessert: chocolate soufflé.

Steve was full of smiles and jokes while cooking his favorite dishes for us. He is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to cooking. I will be dreaming about his chocolate mousse until I recreate it myself.
