Cooking Class: Handmade Chinese Dumplings
In this guided cooking class with Chef Li, you'll learn how to make Chinese soup dumpling from scratch as well as several complementary dishes. The dumplings you will prepare are called Xiao long bao, a steamed bun typically filled with pork. First, you'll knead together your dough and then shape it into wrappers, which you'll fill with pork. Chef Li will teach you how to form perfect pleats to seal the dumpling. Then, you'll learn how to steam the dumplings and enjoy them alongside hot and sour soup and a crunchy cucumber salad. Wrap up with sweet poached pears.
