Learn to make simple, delicious Jamaican dishes Chef Kamilah grew up eating in this authentic Jamaican cooking class. Each dish will be prepared with traditional cooking techniques and infused with authentic flavors. To begin, you'll learn to make spicy jerk turkey and jalapeño patties. Then, you'll stir together stewed pork to serve with rice and beans. For dessert, you'll prepare a sweet bread pudding. As you cook you can enjoy a special mocktail created by Chef Kamilah.

Jerk Jalapeño Patties
With thyme, ground turkey, onions and bell peppers
Stewed Pork

With milk, raisins, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg and sugar
Chef's Special Blend Mocktail
With grapefruit, blueberry, pomegranate, sparkling water, mango nectar, chopped ginger and garnished with lemon

We enjoyed our class with Chef Kamilah! She clearly loves to cook and she kept us engaged the entire time while we learned new techniques. I highly recommend her classes and her private chef experiences to anyone in the NYC area!
Chef Kamilah began her culinary journey cooking with her mother, who is of Jamaican descent. This heritage infuses Kamilah’s cooking with love, and she believes that when you cook with love, it can be tasted. After cooking on the side for many years, she decided to earn a professional culinary degree to hone her skills. She now works in catering and teaches small cooking classes, and enjoys sharing her joy of cooking with others.
