Cooking Class: Magnificent Mediterranean Meal
You’ll create a beautiful, five-course Mediterranean feast, packed with authentic flavors, in this hands-on cooking class. Chef Jalen won’t just teach you recipes and cooking techniques — he’ll also offer tips on plating, seasoning and how to stay confident in the kitchen. You’ll first prepare a light garden salad, followed by a crunchy and satisfying falafel. For the main courses, you’ll cook chicken kabobs and lamb chops, paired with fragrant saffron rice. For dessert, you’ll make a decadent, Mediterranean-style chocolate Bundt cake topped with berries.

We really enjoyed our class with Chef Jalen! He was very knowledgeable and organized. He was such a good teacher as he kept us engaged and answered all of our questions. We learned some great new tips and techniques that will help us recreate these wonderful dishes. I highly recommend Chef Jalen to all those in Charlotte!
Chef Jalen’s culinary career has taken him from being line cook, sous chef or kitchen manager at various restaurants to a lead position at a highly regarded Chinese bistro. He’s also a culinary entrepreneur, running a private chef and catering company. Chef Jalen’s experience working on the East Coast eventually led him to Charlotte, where he now happily shares his passion for international cuisine with students and aspiring chefs of all skill levels.
