Cooking Class: Indian Coconut-Based Cooking

In this hands-on cooking class with Chef Kavitha, you’ll learn all about coconut, an ingredient that is ubiquitous in southern Indian dishes. You’ll begin by mixing a batch of appam, a type of pancake that is made with fermented rice batter and coconut. You’ll then prepare a vegetable stew with coconut milk and plenty of warm spices. For dessert, you’ll craft a true southern Indian classic: chicory coffee with milk and sugar, followed by a lush Indian Alphonso mango mousse topped with crunchy pistachios.

Chef Kavitha was a great teacher and super organized! She kept us all engaged while she shared her knowledge of different types of cuisines and showed us how to create these amazing dishes. I highly recommend Chef Kavitha to anyone in the NYC area!
