Cooking Class: Classic Indian Cuisine
Bring your favorite Indian restaurant dishes to your home kitchen under the expert guidance of Chef Shailini in this hands-on cooking class. Full of flavor and fragrance, these dishes will quickly become weeknight favorites. You'll learn how to prepare seven classic recipes, including a fresh kachumbar salad, aloo gobi mataar, chicken tikka masala, raita with yogurt, dhania chutney and saffron pulao. Dessert is kheer, a North Indian rice pudding made with milk, rice, cream, nuts and cardamom.

With tomatoes, garlic, lemon, mustard oil, coconut and spices
Saffron Pulao
With onions, milk, basmati rice and nuts
Kheer
With milk, rice, sugar, coconut milk, cream, raisins, nuts and cardamom

Shailini makes you feel so welcome while she teaches you about all of the food you are preparing. The meal was delicious and her knowledge of all of the ingredients is shared with the group. We definitely will be booking another class with her !

Meet your chef
Born in Nepal the daughter of a well-known diplomat, Chef Shailini has lived all around the world. She taught at Boston and Northeastern universities before moving on to several well-known Boston institutions to explore her true passion: teaching her students to create food that emphasizes nutrition as well as flavor. In addition to her culinary and teaching endeavors, Chef Shailini also participates in several volunteer efforts.
