Cooking Class: Classic Sushi for Beginners
Join Chef Alejandro in this hands-on cooking class and learn the basic skills and techniques needed to roll your own sushi at home. First, Chef Alejandro will teach you how to prepare kappamaki, which is a delicate, thin sushi roll with cucumber featured in the center. Then, you'll handroll California rolls with capelin roe.
As you learn and practice your sushi-making skills, Chef Alejandro will also share tips and trade secrets for selecting the best ingredients and choosing the freshest fish. No matter what your culinary skill level, from complete novice to advanced amateur and beyond, you're sure to have an exciting time sharing in the art of sushi-rolling with Chef Alejandro.
Cooking classes on Classpop! are designed to be social events that do not require any previous experience. Guests are welcome to purchase beer to enjoy during the class.

Meet your chef
With more than a decade of professional culinary experience to his credit, Chef Alejandro is a sushi itamae who learned the art of sushi in Venezuela. He continued his studies in three other countries before settling in the United States. Chef Alejandro currently hosts private events and teaches sushi-making classes for eager students.
