Cooking Class: Fundamental Knife Skills

Learn fundamental knife skills in this hands-on cooking class. 


In this hands-on culinary experience, Chef Mike will teach you the essentials to properly using knives in the kitchen. Gain confidence and an understanding of general knife styles and anatomy, the safety precautions, and basic use and care. Then, you'll learn different knife cuts and the appropriate times to use them for different dishes and food. You'll also get to put your newly-learned knife skills to the test while creating fresh seasonal salad and vegetable soup. 


Knives will be provided for you during class. If you have a favorite knife at home that you prefer to use, you are welcome to bring it.

Chef Mike’s class was so engaging and practical. I can now use a chef's knife efficiently (and elegantly!), encouraging me to cook fresh meals. I highly recommend the class for anyone who considers all the chopping and cutting in meal prep as laborious. As to Chef Mike, he's not only an extremely knowledgeable and patient teacher but also a very kind individual.
