Cooking Class: Traditional Japanese Gyoza

Gyoza are a type of Japanese dumpling traditionally filled with meat or vegetables. In this cooking class with Chef Greg, you will learn how to make both varieties of gyoza from scratch. 


Start by preparing your gyoza wrappers, which you will fill with two types of fillings. The first will be a combination of pork and vegetables, while the second will swap pork for shiitake mushrooms. Cook your dumplings to perfection and enjoy them with ponzu and Sriracha sauce.

Cooking Classes on Classpop! are designed to be social events that do not require any previous experience. Guests are welcome to purchase beer to enjoy during the class.

I hired Chef Greg last August for a private event in my B'n'B in northern Portugal. I had been to more than one restaurants he ran in London and believed he would be a great fit so decided to have a go with bringing him to cook for my guests. Dinner was a 5 course meal for 27 guests using locally sourced, fresh ingredients. I have to say the experience was absolutely perfec! Flavours were matched together harmoniously, he researched local farms and producers (part of the brief for the menu) and brought together a divine feast with combinations of Portuguese, Peruvian, Asian and American cuisine. All guests had the time of their lives. Definitely an experience to repeat!

Greg cooked a delicious Vietnamese dish which included a variety of vegetables, meats, and noodles. This was the best Vietnamese meal I have ever had, which made the dinner a memorable experience. The combination of flavors complemented one another wonderfully. I always enjoy Greg’s cooking and look forward to eating another meal.
