Cooking Class: Cook Carnival Classics From Scratch
Let Chef Shelley transport you to the colorful streets of New Orleans in this immersive Mardi Gras cooking class.
While this session is all about showcasing classic Carnival cuisine, you'll also pick up interesting Creole cooking techniques like shucking oysters, crafting flavorful seafood dishes and balancing traditional Louisiana seasonings. On the cooking front, you'll start with delectable oysters Mosca and zesty crab deviled eggs. You'll then create a signature New Orleans dish of shrimp on creamy sweet potato grits. Finally, you'll learn to make a traditional Carnival dessert: white chocolate almond mousse featuring heavy whipping cream and almond extract.

Shrimp & Sweet Potato Grits
With trinity, pancetta, white wine, Creole seasoning, flour, butter, seafood stock, sweet potatoes and old fashioned grits

With white chocolate, eggs, heavy whipping cream and almond extract

Chef Shelley was a joy to cook with and learn from. She has a wealth of stories due to her many experiences as a chef, restauranteur, and more! She was welcoming and the food was YUM-mazing! We went for a company team building and we’re really able to unwind and enjoy. We highly recommend!
