To begin the class, you'll learn proper knife techniques to slice avocado, cucumber, mango and other ingredients in preparation for the sushi. Next, learn the time-honored recipe for traditional seasoned sushi rice. Spread the rice across nori sheets before layering your sushi ingredients. Add avocado, cucumber and surimi to make a classic California roll. Then, use a combination of mango, cucumber and avocado to make a vibrant vegetable roll. Finally, Chef Quinneka will teach you the technique for rolling the sushi like a professional chef and slice it into bite-sized pieces. Revel in your handmade sushi feast and your newfound cooking skills as you end the class on a delicious note.
