Cooking Class: Craft Southeast Asian Classics
Delight your tastebuds with the complex and delicious flavors of Southeast Asian cuisine.
Led by Chef Payal, you'll learn how to make four decadent dishes from around the region. To begin the class, you'll make dumpling pastry from scratch for traditional Chinese dumplings. Practice knife skills as you chop chicken, shrimp and vegetables to fill your dumplings. Learn the technique to cook them until perfectly golden brown. Next, you'll make xiao long bao filled with savory minced pork and a comforting broth in a from-scratch pastry. Take a culinary journey to a classic Singapore hawker center and make of Hainanese chicken rice, kueh pie tee and char kway teow to get a taste of this classic open-air food center. Blend Chinese, Malay and Indonesian cuisines to master Peranakan cooking, whipping up chicken rendang and wing bean salad.
