Cooking Class: Handmade Sushi

Learn how to make sushi like a master in this hands-on cooking class. Chef Mai will teach you the time-honored techniques to crafting rolls from scratch.


You'll make a spicy tuna roll and a flavorful dragon roll using fresh ingredients. Learn the secrets to making the perfect fluffy sushi rice to be the base of your rolls. Practice knife skills to chop avocado and cucumber. Then, make a crispy shrimp tempura. With all your ingredients, you'll master the art of rolling sushi rolls like a chef and whip up sauces to serve with them.

Chef Mai was amazing and did a great job adjusting her class to accommodate the mix of people who were there for business and others who were having a fun date night. The venue was outside at a brewery, I knew this beforehand and it was perfect! Being able to have a beer or two during an outdoor casual class was exactly what I was looking for for my date night.

Chef Mai was an engaging and fun teacher. We learned a lot and would certainly do another class. We were not expecting the class to be outside and though the weather was beautiful, being outside was not an ideal venue for food prep.
