Cooking Class: Mastering Peruvian Cuisine
Get a taste of Peru in this hands-on cooking class. Chef Jay will teach you the time-honored recipes to make this flavorful cuisine. The class begins with papa a la huancaina, Peruvian boiled potatoes served with a spicy cheese sauce made with ajà amarillo pepper, fresco cheese, onions, evaporated milk, garlic, olive oil and Kalamata olives. Then, prepare lomo saltado, a Peruvian sautéed sirloin steak with French fries, ginger, green onions, red onions, Peruvian yellow peppers and a splash of pisco. Finally, enjoy a sweet ending with mazamorra morada, a traditional Peruvian purple corn dessert flavored with cinnamon, cloves, pineapples, apples and lime.
