Learn how to turn tinned seafood into a delicious meal in this lecture-style cooking class. Chef Janet will teach you the art of elevated simple seafood dishes. First, you'll learn how to turn salmon into crispy salmon nuggets. Then, combine mackerel with cannellini beans to make a flavorful dip. Make a savory Reuben melt with smoked trout and sardines on sourdough bread. These simple seafood dishes will be your new favorite snacks. Plus, you'll learn cooking techniques that will help elevate your future dishes.

Enjoyed this cooking experience where we got to roll our own dough and make delicious pasta. Chef Janet was attentive to details and on time. She was organized as well. Left with a full tummy and a skill that I would be able to use for a lifetime!

Fun & accessible to all, with a delicious (and very large!) plate of potstickers to dig into at the end. Chef Janet was so organized and engaging, and following her instructions on making the filling and folding the potstickers was easy. She is also a fascinating and lovely person you will enjoy getting to know.

Clear instructions and stories. Safe methodologies. Delicious food! We went to a brewery where the class was held for my birthday with my wife. My brother bought me the class. Highly recommended. We were other adult couples who wanted to learn how to make sushi!

Chef Janet was outstanding. The venue at Temperence Beer was not. Instead of having us in a section of the bar, they put us in the back where the beer is made. 4 Long tables were set up. Ours was 8 feet from the drain where they release the excess beer and yeast from the bottom of the steel vats. It was an unpleasant smell. This was especially unprofessional for a class in which we were to be working with chocolate. Others felt the same. This has no bearing on Chef Janet. She was a trooper. She did the best she could under not so special facilities. Put Janet in another venue that is adequate for any type of dessert or entre preparation education, and you have a 5- Star Experience. It is ClassPop's responsibility to provide a fair venue, not Chef Janet. Chef Janet..... 5- Star Location Venue..... 1.5- Star

This sushi class was great! Chef Janet showed us how to assemble sushi in an easy and fun way. We didn't need to bring any supplies other than ourselves. We made enough sushi to enjoy in and out of the class. Sushi is far less intimidating now thanks to Chef Janet. I hope to take more of her classes in the future!

Chef Janet is awesome! The scheduling was easy, she drove a ways to accommodate our location and came fully prepared for a fun, informative, and food-filled night. The communication level was just right. During our experience, we prepared ravioli and cannoli! When Chef left we felt competent in our ability to prepare on our own and had fun doing it! Thanks, Chef Janet, we look forward to our next experience!!

Chef Janet was kind but I didn’t expect the class to be a bit better. We used paper plates, we were in close proximity with others, and it was in the middle of brewery that had alters inside and even witchcraft and demonology papers plastered all over the bathroom so it was a bit uncomfortable at first. Luckily I was there with a close friend so we made it a fun evening. I would not take another class not at this location atleast.

Very overpriced for what you get, basically rolling pasta dough in the middle of the brewery - with little instruction or tools. The alfredo sauce and chicken lacked flavor and were not “instructed” to us at all, rather the instructor dumped them in a pot and left us to talk in small groups. The “facilities” of the cooking class were various burners set up on a plastic tablecloth, that blew the fuse several times causing the cooking food to go cold. It wasn’t a bad evening but grossly overpriced and left a grimy feeling in your mouth.

Chef Janet is the bomb and her classes are very fun. She gives excellent instructions to get you going and enough space so you get to create your masterpiece yourself. We also dig getting to know the other people taking the class! Having it at a brewery is a great idea. We’ve done two classes with Chef Janet and want to do more!

Chef Janet is excellent! We made sushi with her. I personally am not great at cooking, but the class showed me that I could actually prepare sushi for friends! She is incredibly passionate and knowledgeable about food. She was very professional and personable. I would recommend taking a class with Chef Janet to anyone!

In Chef Janet's taco cooking class, we started off by making tortilla shells from scratch, which added a hands-on element to the experience. The variety of toppings and proteins she provided allowed for a diverse range of flavor combinations. Chef Janet was well-prepared and approachable, making the class beginner-friendly. Overall, it was a tasty and enjoyable cooking adventure. Highly recommend, and would take another class with her!

Janet was wonderful! Food was great, class was fun. My only complaint is that it’s hard to hear her at times because you’re sitting in the middle of a brewery with children yelling and running around. I realize this is not reflection of Janet’s teaching skills, 5 stars there! Also I would recommend bringing tubberware to bring home any extras.

Chef Janet was great, however we signed up for a sushi making class and walked into a pasta making class. Chef Janet was gracious and apologized for the mistake. But we were unable to enjoy the full experience due to our dietary restrictions. The pasta class was not vegan friendly so we could not eat. This was a little disappointing.

What a fabulous class! I never knew how to properly temper chocolate, prepare a mold or make a nut cluster. Chef Janet covers all of this plus more. Great experience!

Chef Janet was very informative. She kept the class moving, which became a bit fast for me, as I was not paired up with a partner (odd number students). She was generous with ingredients and the encouragement to make the rolls to our own liking. I did not realize before the class that she had lived for a while in Hong Kong -- personal and geographical expertise!!

Class was fun, Janet was great and answered all questions. Location wasn’t very ideal as we were placed in the bar area at small high top tables with another couple and it was hard to make sushi with so little space. Would do another class again!

Whilst I am sure Chef Janet is a wonderful person, this class fell short in too many ways to warrant anything more than one star. Indeed, a refund would be more appropriate. The equipment was lacking (not enough bowls, blunt knives) and the quality of the ingredients was poor (rotten mangos and avocados which I understand happens with fresh ingredients, but she was reluctant to swap them out). Worst of all was that she washed the sushi rice in the bar toilets! I couldn’t believe this and we couldn’t eat anymore of the sushi rice or food. Hygiene should be a basic standard, and in no world would it ever be appropriate to wash food for human consumption in a public restroom. The toilets were not the cleanest, and there were cockroach traps in there too so this was far beyond appropriate. I was appalled and this is just unforgivable. I have no idea why she did that when the bar had water for humans and I am sure would have provided it. We didn’t learn anything from the class as we couldn’t see her well from the table available to us, further she would begin one thing and then not follow up with instruction. She did mention that she wasn’t scheduled to teach the class but honestly, she shouldn’t have taught a class she wasn’t comfortable with. Please can someone get in touch with me on this review?

I recently took Janet Cobb's wonderful cooking class. We made Sushi and California rolls. Janet is such a good teacher and made the experience so enjoyable! She had all the equipment ready at our places and walked us through the process step by step. We learned how to prep the fillings and roll each piece. I felt so accomplished when I finished. And it tasted great!

Pot stickers are way too delicious and complicated for me to ever make, right? Wrong. Janet stepped us patiently through the process of blending ground meats, chopping vegetables and mixing in seasoning. Just doing that much took the mystery out of pot stickers, but Janet even taught us how to make the dough covering part. She had also provided store-bought frozen shells, but I soon found that the dough I had was heartier. When we tasted our finished creations, I was shocked by how well we had done. Janet provided an excellent recipe and made learning it fun. She helped us feel successful. I had a great time.
