In this lecture-style cooking class, learn how to turn common kitchen scraps into a delicious meal. Chef Erin will teach you how to turn miscellaneous ingredients for another meal, starting with a peanut noodle salad. Make a sauce from peanut butter and chopped peanuts to drizzle over wheat noodles and shredded vegetables. Then, make a sweet and tangy vinaigrette with strawberries and apple cider vinegar. Finally, use carrot tops with basil and pine nuts to make a homemade pesto. At the end of class, you'll enjoy this low-waste feast.

Caveat emptor… this isn’t really making ramen so much as assembling ramen from pre-prepped components. Chef Erin should revisit her format - crowding around hot plates that blew out the circuit breaker in the storage room of a Saké bar wasn’t really what I was expecting at this price point. At the end of it, I did end up with a good bowl of ramen and the knowledge of how to marinate a hard boiled egg. Chef Erin is also really nice and a lot of fun to spend time with.
