Cooking Class: Cook Authentic Japanese Curry From Scratch
Learn how to make one of Japan's most popular dishes in this engaging cooking class. Chef Shinya will guide you through a curated menu of Japanese dishes, including authentic Japanese curry.
First, toss a salad of mixed green flavored with paprika and mushrooms. Then make a Japanese-style caesar dressing to drizzle on the salad. Next, you'll wrap fresh seasonal vegetables with thinly-sliced pork to dip in soy sauce. Make soft-boiled eggs and chicken curry with Japanese techniques to top aromatic turmeric rice. For dessert, enjoy a parfait with seasonal fruit.

Fun class. Chef Shinya is great at explaining what to do, technique and walking you through before and after tastings with different ingredients. Super fun!

We rolled sushi with Chef Shinya and had a great time. Small group of up to six more sushi then you can eat and plenty of hand instructions and tips to roll on your own. Thank you chef for a great night.

Meet your chef
Chef Shinya is a Japanese chef who specializes in traditional dishes from his home country enhanced with local flavors and ingredients of the West Coast. His combination of both classic Japanese techniques and native ingredients makes for dishes that are truly unique. Chef Shinya has lots of industry experience, having worked as both a culinary instructor and chef trainer. He also formerly owned a restaurant that earned three stars from Seattle Times.Â
