Chef Dom was incredibly knowledgeable about the subject matter and we really enjoyed meeting them, but unfortunately the class was a bit disorganized. It could be greatly improved by explaining at the beginning of the class what the structure would be and facilitating accordingly. Explaining “everyone will make their own individual sushi roll to try” or “everything will be served family style” would be helpful, as the food seemed to be first come first serve and not everyone got to try the sushi. A more structured class, especially with such a large group, and enough chairs for everyone would go a long way.

Taking chef Dom sushi making class was a great experience. I really enjoyed myself. I loved how chef Dom was open to taking all questions and she came with all the answers. Her spicy mayo sauce was out of this world. I loved her homemade bone marrow butter. It was so good made you want to slap yo momma. (I’m sorry momma) but chef Dom did it. Chef Dom wasn’t expecting her class to be so big so she did the best she could from what she had. It was about 20 people. We were able to try some of the sushi that we made. Some people made rolls for others to try and some made personal for themselves. Some people didn’t get to try because they were allergic to shrimp or they just didn’t want to participate. I loved how she tried to get everyone to experience hands on from what she had. I loved how she went into detail about how to make sushi from how to fry the shrimp, the temperature etc and she made it a point to remind us that we americanized sushi; sushi is raw everything. The raw food that she had was salmon, tuna and everything was so fresh. No fishy smell. It was mwah! Chef kiss. Note I never ate raw sushi but I did this time. My suggestions I would like to make maybe have more vegetables for people who don’t eat raw fish. The location of the class was just great. Lucid winery to be exact. It was old library vibe just beautiful it felt like home. Overall it was nice experience and now I know how to make sushi.
