Cooking Class: Learn Authentic Taqueria Techniques

Level up your Taco Tuesday game with this hands-on cooking class taught by Chef Luis. You'll transform fresh ingredients into rustic tortillas, taco fillings, salsa and more all while getting a chance to practice your knife skills.


Class starts with Chef Luis teaching you how to stir together an easy avocado and cream cheese dip, followed by making corn tortillas from scratch. Next, you'll cook up two fillings for your tacos: a tangy chicken tinga and mushrooms with fresh guacamole and feta. Finally, Chef Luis will teach you how to make fresh salsa from smoky charred tomatoes, onion and jalapeño, a perfect complement to your tacos.

Chef Luis taught me how to properly chop an onion safely while also having even pieces. I learned a good tip from him in order to cry less during chopping by always using a very sharp knife. This is crucial in order to not release the gasses of the onion. I will definitely be using his tips and tricks in my home kitchen.
