Cooking Class: Neapolitan Pizza From Scratch

This hands-on cooking class with Chef Joe is all about highlighting the delicious flavors of simple ingredients. You'll learn how to make three Italian dishes from scratch, including and authentic Neapolitan pizza. To begin, you'll toss together a panzanella salad of cherry tomatoes, basil, and bread and top it with a zesty dressing. Then you'll learn how to make pizza dough and pizza sauce from scratch. With these base ingredients prepared, you'll top your pizza with plenty of mozzarella and fresh basil. For dessert, prepare and enjoy a custardy and sweet zabaglione with fresh strawberries.

Authentic Neapolitan Pizza

With San Marzano tomatoes, fior di latte cheese, olive oil and fresh basil

With egg yolks, Marsala wine, sugar and strawberries

Chef Joe taught me that it is very important to have a 3 to 1 ratio of vinegar to oil when making a salad dressing. He has worked in some of the best restaurants in the Middle East and North America!
