Cooking Class: Classic Cooking Across Asia

In this interactive cooking class, Chef Charleston will teach you how to prepare authentic dishes from a variety of Asian cuisines. Discover the unique flavors of Japan, Thailand, China, Singapore and the Philippines by using regional ingredients and classic culinary techniques. Begin by making a traditional Japanese miso soup and bright Thai mango salad. For the main course, the chef will guide you as you create savory sauces for a bold chicken and rice dish popular in China and Singapore. Finish the meal with Filipino bilo bilo with black sesame.

Miso Soup (Japan)

With dashi, tofu and kombu


Mango Salad (Thailand)

With red pepper, cilantro, Thai basil, green onion, lime and peanuts


Hainanese Chicken Rice (China and Singapore)

With ginger, green onion, sesame steamed rice, garlic gai lan and savory sauces


Black Sesame Bilo Bilo (Philippines)

With coconut milk and ginger syrup

Chef Charles was a wonderful host. He turned my favorite comfort meal into a delicious vegan dish. My family was shocked to find out that the dumplings we made were just as delicious as non vegan dumplings.
