Cooking Class: Plant-Based Pan-Asian Cooking

In this hands-on cooking class, you will join Chef Charleston for an exploration of vegan dishes inspired by diverse Asian cuisines. Using regional ingredients such as lemongrass and yellow curry paste, you will prepare a plant-based meal featuring the flavors of Thailand, China, Korea and the Philippines. This vibrant menu begins with spicy Thai coconut soup followed by savory Chinese dumplings and Korean japchae with sweet potato noodles. For dessert, enjoy a popular Filipino dessert of creamy coconut and mango purée.

Tom Kha Coconut Soup (Thailand)

With yellow curry paste, mushroom, red pepper, snap peas, lemongrass and ginger


Watercress and Mushroom Dumplings (China)

With water chestnut, ginger, tamari and rice wine vinegar


Japchae (Korea)

With sweet potato noodles, mushroom, carrot, watercress, tamari and sesame


Coconut Mango Sago (Philippines)

With coconut milk yogurt, tapioca and peanuts

Chef Charles was a wonderful host. He turned my favorite comfort meal into a delicious vegan dish. My family was shocked to find out that the dumplings we made were just as delicious as non vegan dumplings.
