Cooking Class: Simple and Casual Dinner Party
In this hands-on cooking class, you'll learn how to create a make-ahead dinner menu, so you can host a casual dinner party with your friends without the stress! First, you'll assemble a bright sugar snap pea salad appetizer by layering the snap peas among arugula, fresh herbs and homemade vinaigrette. Next, you'll learn how to prepare a chicken phyllo stuffed with goat cheese, leeks and roasted garlic for a simple yet stunning main course. You'll also cook up a flavorful jeweled couscous seasoned with currants, almonds, green onions and lemon to serve on the side. Lastly, you'll whip up a rich and decadent molten chocolate cake to conclude the night. You'll leave the class having mastered these effortless make-ahead recipes and ready to impress your guests at your next casual dinner party!

Chef Karen was an incredible teacher. The class was inviting and I was encouraged to get out of my comfort zone with flavours, techniques, and foods. Would strongly recommend this class and Chef Karen as an instructor for all levels of home cooks.

Chef Karen is a Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts graduate with nearly two decades of professional cooking experience. She works as a private chef and cooking instructor and formerly owned her own prepared meals and catering company. In Chef Karen's words: “Great cooking isn’t about recipes, it’s about techniques," which she aims to pass along to her students. She prides herself on offering cooking classes and team-building events that are fun, hands-on and educational.
