In this hands-on cooking class, Chef Karen will teach you how to master the art of preparing party appetizers. No matter what kind of occasion you're celebrating, every party needs petite bites that can be served individually for your guests to enjoy. You'll begin the class by learning how to create homemade Japanese eggplant sandwiches stuffed with a creamy goat cheese and leek filling. Next, Chef Karen will teach you how to prepare bacon-wrapped halloumi bites with tomatoes, as well as a lemon-garlic shrimp appetizer. You'll continue honing your culinary skills by crafting three more appetizers, including spicy toast with a lemon-pea mash, chicken and green olive empanadas and deep fried avocados. You'll surely impress your guests with all these perfect party appetizers!

Chef Karen was an incredible teacher. The class was inviting and I was encouraged to get out of my comfort zone with flavours, techniques, and foods. Would strongly recommend this class and Chef Karen as an instructor for all levels of home cooks.

Chef Karen is a Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts graduate with nearly two decades of professional cooking experience. She works as a private chef and cooking instructor and formerly owned her own prepared meals and catering company. In Chef Karen's words: “Great cooking isn’t about recipes, it’s about techniques," which she aims to pass along to her students. She prides herself on offering cooking classes and team-building events that are fun, hands-on and educational.
